MercurySend
Changelog

Every update, newest first

The running record of what we ship — across web, iOS and Android. Most of it starts as a request on the board.

37 releases
Improved2
  • On phones, the navigation menu now slides open and closed with a quick, smooth animation, and the page behind it stays put while it's open.
  • Prices read consistently as US$ across the site — the pricing page and your billing screen now show the exact same, unambiguous format.
Fixed1
  • The pricing page no longer flickers for a moment as it finishes loading.
Improved3
  • Every page loads faster. There's a lot less to download before the first screen appears — on the marketing site, sign-in and right through the dashboard and inbox.
  • The app feels more responsive. We quietened a lot of background activity that was competing with your own clicks, so navigating, opening screens and typing all react more immediately.
  • When you switch to another tab or app, MercurySend now goes quiet in the background instead of working away — then refreshes the instant you come back to it.
New2
  • Prefer to pay once a year? Choose Annual on any plan and save 20% on the whole year, in a single charge.
  • A plan comparison table on your billing page — every plan side by side, with a tick for each feature, so it's easy to see what you get.
Improved5
  • Your plan's message allowance now matches how you pay: about a quarter of the monthly amount each week on a weekly plan, or the full year up front on an annual one. Credits still never expire.
  • Prices and message counts are now clean, whole numbers everywhere — the pricing page and your billing screen show the same figures, and it's exactly what you're charged and given.
  • Your billing screen shows the price, the included messages and your next charge for the exact plan and cadence you're on — weekly or annual.
  • Billing is now one screen: your balance, plan, usage, plans, credits, card and history all in one place — no more tabs to hunt through.
  • Every plan now shows its rate for extra messages beyond what's included, right on the card — no surprises if you go over.
Changed1
  • Plans now bill weekly by default — a smaller amount, more often. The price you see on the pricing page is exactly what you're charged, with no monthly surprise.
Fixed1
  • A handful of quiet reliability fixes: email-to-text and scheduled messages no longer stall on rare edge cases, a webhook pointed at an unreachable address is now switched off cleanly instead of retrying forever, and asking to raise your sending limit twice at once no longer errors.
New2
  • You can get verified right in sign-up: confirm your mobile with a texted code, then give your business type and legal name and we begin your 10DLC registration for you. Both steps are optional, and they also wait for you on your dashboard.
  • On a phone, a banner at the top of the app now takes you to the MercurySend app on the right store — the App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android.
Changed1
  • Signing up now opens with a few one-tap questions — what you want to do first, your kind of business, your team size and how much you text — so your account arrives shaped around how you work before you type a single detail. A live panel beside the form fills in as you answer.
Fixed1
  • The home screen now lays out properly on phones: the getting-started steps and the top reminder no longer crush their text next to the button — each one reads cleanly, with a full-width action underneath.
Fixed1
  • Restoring a suspended account without writing a note used to fail after the account had already been restored — so it looked like nothing happened when it had. Same fix for approving an appeal without a note.
New2
  • There's now a limit on how many messages you can send in a row to someone who hasn't replied. Any reply from them clears it, so a normal back-and-forth is never affected — and a single reminder to a quiet customer is fine. The limit rises as your account builds a track record.
  • We now recognise personal pleading and messages aimed at someone's private relationships. That isn't business texting, and on a new account it's held for a person to look at before anything is sent.
Improved1
  • If a message is stopped for one of these reasons, we say plainly what stopped it and what clears it.
Changed1
  • An account we've flagged as high-risk that hasn't yet been verified has its messages held for review rather than sent. One click from us releases them if the flag was wrong.
New3
  • The last ten messages, sent and received, now sit right under the New message box. Anything that came in to you is on a grey background, so a glance is enough — no trip to the inbox.
  • Scheduled messages can repeat: daily, weekly, monthly, every six months, yearly, or every two years. Pick the first date and the cadence, and it keeps going until you stop it.
  • Every account now has a reference number like MS-001234, shown on your account and quotable to support. No more spelling out a business name to work out which account we're looking at.
Improved2
  • When a message can't go out, we now say what to do about it and give you the link — straight to Billing to add a card, or to your phone numbers, whichever it is.
  • If you're on the free trial and run out of texts, we now tell you to add a payment method and choose a plan, rather than suggesting you buy credits — which a trial can't do.
Changed2
  • The "What's new" note no longer appears while you're signing up. There's nothing to catch up on when you've just arrived.
  • The recipient box says "Enter recipient number" instead of showing an example number that looked like it was already filled in.
Fixed3
  • The message box now stays closed until you've entered a full ten-digit number. You used to be able to write a whole text against nine digits and only find out it wouldn't send afterwards.
  • We stop asking you to save a contact you've already saved. Saving a name now actually sticks to the contact, which is why it kept asking.
  • "Location requests" is in the menu, under Messages. The feature was there all along with no way to reach it.
New2
  • Your email-to-text address is on your home screen, with your own mobile as a ready-made example and a "send myself a test" button. Email that address and your phone buzzes — that's the whole feature, proven in one tap.
  • "Your sending limit" on the home screen tells you what your daily limit is, why it's that number, and the specific things that raise it — with a tick against the ones you've already done. No more guessing, and no more asking us.
Improved2
  • The sign-in page explains why you're looking at it — whether you just confirmed your email or your session expired — and creating an account is an obvious button instead of a line of small grey text.
  • The menu links on our landing pages (Product, Compliance, AI, Developers) used to do nothing. They go where they say.
Fixed4
  • Prices are on every page now. "Pricing" is the most-clicked link on our whole site — and on our landing pages it went nowhere at all. It works, and the plans are right there, including the $10 one we'd somehow left off.
  • Confirming your email now signs you in. Opening that link from your mail app used to drop you on a login screen seconds after you'd confirmed — because your mail app's browser wasn't signed in. Click the link, you're in.
  • Email-to-text works out of the box. You used to have to find a settings page and approve your own email address before it would do anything. Everyone who can sign in to your account can now send, straight away.
  • Our own trial reminders were being blocked from reaching customers outside the US. They go out properly now.
New3
  • Once your DNS checks out, everything else happens on its own: we add your domain to our servers, get a security certificate for it, and switch it on. Usually a few minutes, no email to wait for and nothing to ask us for.
  • The certificate renews itself before it expires, for as long as the domain is yours.
  • When your domain goes live you get an email, and the page shows the address as a link you can open.
Improved1
  • If setting the domain up doesn't work — usually because the DNS record changed after you added it — your settings page now tells you exactly what went wrong. We keep retrying every few minutes, so a fixed record is picked up without you doing anything.
New6
  • Branding has its own page now, and it actually paints the app. Pick your colour and the whole portal — buttons, links, highlights — is in it, for you and your clients. We choose the text colour on your buttons to match, so a pale brand colour never leaves an unreadable label.
  • Upload your logo instead of hosting it somewhere and pasting a link. Drag a file in and we'll host it, with a preview on both a light and a dark background so you can see it the way it'll actually appear.
  • Choosing your colour is a colour picker, a set of ready-made shades, and a hex box that all stay in step — and a live preview of your workspace beside it, so you can see the change before you save it.
  • Setting up a custom domain now walks you through it. We give you the two DNS records to create with one-tap copy, then check them for real against public DNS — with "Watch live", which keeps re-checking and tells you the moment they land. You can see exactly what each resolver sees while it's propagating, instead of guessing.
  • Your own preferences now include your time zone and whether we email or text you product news — all in one place, and any team member can change their own.
  • You can set a teammate's role from the Team page. Admin, supervisor, or member, with a plain-English note on what each one can do.
Improved6
  • Time zone is a searchable list showing the current local time in each one, with a one-tap "use my time zone" — and we no longer accept a zone that doesn't exist. A typo there used to send at the wrong hour with no error anywhere.
  • Every settings field now uses the control it deserves: a picker where there are set options, stars for a rating threshold, removable chips for a list of email addresses, a proper phone field for a phone number, and a message box with tokens and a live length counter for anything we'll text.
  • Numbers say what they count — "messages per day", "segments per message" — and tell you what 0 means. Out-of-range values are caught while you're typing, not after saving.
  • Your billing address has a country list and, where we know them, a state or province picker — no more guessing whether to type "US", "USA" or "United States".
  • Adding an account contact or a teammate now checks the email address looks right, and deactivating a seat asks first.
  • If you batch low-rating alerts into a digest, you can now set how often it goes out and how long we wait before sending, so a comment that arrives just after a rating lands in the same email.
Changed1
  • Your profile page is just you now — photo, name, password. The billing address, account contacts, and branding moved to the workspace pages where an admin would look for them.
Fixed4
  • White-label branding never actually reached the app for signed-in users — your logo, name and colour were saved but the portal kept showing ours. It applies now, from the first moment the page paints.
  • A team member couldn't save their own out-of-office reply — they were told only an owner or admin could do that. Your own preferences are yours to change.
  • Turning on an out-of-office reply with nothing written in it would have texted people an empty message. It's not allowed now, and we offer wording to start from.
  • The "Saved." bar no longer sits at the bottom of the page for the rest of your visit.
New1
  • There's now an Android app, live on Google Play. "Get the app" at the bottom of the sidebar shows both phones side by side and highlights the one you're reading this on, so it's one tap to the right store.
Improved1
  • The two app tiles catch the light every few seconds — a soft orange sweep, so they're easy to spot without shouting. It switches itself off if you've asked your device to reduce motion.
Improved1
  • Notification setup for the iPhone and Android apps is now a matter of dropping in a key, with nothing to configure in code. If a key isn't set, the app still works exactly as before — you just don't get push notifications on that platform.
Fixed1
  • A phone could be dropped from notifications for the wrong reason. If a device was registered from one kind of app build and we tried the other one's notification service, the phone came back looking broken — and we removed it. We now check both before removing anything, so a working phone is never unsubscribed by mistake.
Changed1
  • Delivery and reply notifications coming in from a phone network are now only accepted when they carry a valid signature proving they really came from that network. Nothing changes in how your texts send or arrive — this closes the door on anyone forging one.
Improved1
  • Send now stays switched off until a phone number is complete, instead of letting you send and then showing an error. Same on contacts, review requests and phone verification.
Fixed11
  • Texts sent through one of our carriers could sit on "sent" forever — never confirming delivery, and never refunding your credits if the carrier had actually failed them. They now settle properly either way.
  • Recurring alerts only reached you once. If the same alert fired again an hour or a week later, it was quietly swallowed. Every occurrence now sends.
  • Moving a job to a different driver didn't text the new driver. Reassign now notifies whoever the job lands on — and your customer keeps the tracking link they already have, without a second text.
  • Signing up could fail with an error if you double-tapped the button. It can't any more — and no form in the app will submit twice from one impatient click.
  • Retrying a broadcast that had already gone out could send the whole list a second time. A retry now returns the original broadcast instead.
  • Only your 100 most recent conversations were reachable in the inbox. You can now page back through all of them.
  • The "New contact" button (and the equivalent on other pages) could be clipped by the notification bell on smaller screens.
  • A brand-new account with all of its free texts intact showed a full red credits bar, as though something were wrong. It doesn't any more.
  • The sidebar printed your name twice when your workspace hadn't been renamed, the setup checklist said "four steps" while listing five, and the empty inbox sat in a half-height panel.
  • Scheduling a text to a number typed in local format could fail hours later when it went to send. Numbers are now tidied up at the moment you schedule.
  • A contact who had opted out of one topic didn't always show as opted out on their profile.
New1
  • New automation trigger — "When a contact gets a label." Tag a contact "completed" (or anything you like) and it starts the flow. Pair it with the new "Ask for a review" step for a hands-off "job done → wait a day → ask for a review".
New1
  • Upload a profile photo (Settings → Profile) and a workspace photo (Settings → Organization). They show in the sidebar and across the app, with clean initials as the fallback.
New1
  • Add a profile photo to any contact: open their panel and tap the avatar to upload one. Photos show across your contacts and inbox, and you can remove one anytime. No photo? You still get clean initials.
New1
  • Automations have a new "Ask for a review" step. Build flows like "when someone texts DONE → wait a day → ask for a review", with your own message or the default. Consent and the happy/unhappy routing are handled for you.
Improved1
  • When Contacts, Templates, Contact groups, Reviews, Bulk sends, or Automations are empty, you now get a friendly prompt and a one-tap button to add your first one — no hunting for where to start.
Improved1
  • The auto top-up card now shows a tidy placeholder while it loads, instead of a bare "Loading…".
New1
  • The detailed report now has a Reviews section — requests sent, how many responded, your average rating, happy raters, and how many low ratings still need a follow-up.
Improved1
  • The credits shown in the sidebar refresh on their own — instantly after you buy credits, and as you send — so the number is always current without a reload.
Fixed2
  • Texting your whole list without a card no longer bounces you to another page. The card form pops up right where you are, and your bulk send goes out the moment you've added it.
  • Turning on auto top-up without a card now offers to add one right there, instead of just telling you to.
Fixed1
  • Picking a paid plan with no card on file used to stop with an error. Now the card form pops up and, once you've added it, your plan starts right away — one smooth flow.
New1
  • If you've started texting but don't have a payment method on file, you'll get a friendly reminder in your notifications so you're never caught out mid-send. It's easy to act on and never nags.
Improved2
  • Scheduling, pausing, or cancelling recurring messages now confirms the change.
  • Managing API keys and webhooks, and requesting a texting number, all give clear feedback.
Improved2
  • Starting or cancelling a bulk send now gives you a clear confirmation.
  • Turning an automation on or off, creating one, or deleting one all confirm the change.
Improved2
  • Adding, editing, opting in/out, or archiving a contact now gives you a clear confirmation.
  • Archiving a contact asks first — and reassures you their message history stays.
New1
  • Search your settings — start typing (API keys, signature, team, reviews…) and jump straight to the right place.
Improved1
  • Saving a setting now confirms it went through, so you're never left guessing.
New4
  • Set up reviews right in the app — your default ask message, automatic follow-ups if they don't reply, where happy raters go, and who gets alerted about a low rating.
  • Mark a low rating as handled once you've made it right, so nothing slips through.
  • Write a custom message when you ask for a review — or set a default once and forget it.
  • Ask for a review in one tap right from a conversation in your inbox — the best moment to ask is when you've just helped someone.
Improved2
  • The Reviews page is now a clean control center: every request, its rating, and the follow-ups that still need you.
  • Copy an AI-suggested reply to a review in one tap.
New1
  • Naming a template suggests categories you've used before.
Improved3
  • Saving or deleting a template or contact group now confirms what happened — and deleting asks first, so nothing disappears by accident.
  • Consistent naming: it's "Contact groups" everywhere now (no more stray "lists").
  • The What's new timeline now shows the time of each release, not just the date.
New2
  • Buy credits even without a card on file — we add your card and finish the purchase in one step, then remember it for next time.
  • Changing plans now shows a clear confirmation with the exact charge and date before anything happens.
Improved3
  • Cancelling is calmer and more helpful — we'll help you find a plan that fits before you go, and you can always keep your number.
  • Friendly confirmations now appear across the app — buying credits, changing plans, saving cards, and more all tell you exactly what happened.
  • The secure card form now shows a loading state and never lets you save before it's ready.
New2
  • Email to text has its own home in the app — send a text just by emailing your number @txt.mercurysend.com.
  • Manage exactly which email addresses are allowed to send through your number, so no one else can.
Improved1
  • A clear, step-by-step guide shows how email-to-text works and where replies land.
New1
  • A new detailed report holds the deeper stats (delivery health, source mix, costs) for when you want to dig in.
Improved2
  • Home now shows the numbers that actually matter — texts sent, delivered, replies, and credits — in plain language.
  • Notifications and live data refresh on their own — no more manual refreshing.
Fixed1
  • Fixed the phone field: backspacing a number now un-formats it cleanly instead of jamming a “1” in.
New2
  • Warm, reassuring screens when a page can't be found or something hiccups — with a quick way back and support.
  • Your profile and workspace photos plus a live credits bar now sit at the bottom of the sidebar.
Improved1
  • The getting-started checklist can be dismissed, and a slim banner gently flags anything important — like adding a card or picking a plan.
Changed2
  • “Saved messages” are now “Templates”, and “Contact lists” are now “Contact groups”.
  • Team moved into Settings so the sidebar stays focused on what you use most.
New5
  • Send a message straight from your Home screen.
  • Request a customer's location right inside the composer.
  • After a one-off text, save that number to your contacts in one tap.
  • Create a contact and message them in the same step.
  • Message history now shows every message, with filters and search.
Improved5
  • Slimmer sidebar with a tidy, collapsible Messages menu.
  • Contacts redesigned — avatars, companies, tags, and instant search.
  • Inbox is cleaner, with avatars and a one-tap New message button.
  • Every phone field now shows a US flag with a locked +1 — no more typing it.
  • Tighter spacing and smooth page transitions throughout the app.
Changed2
  • Developers and Client accounts moved into Settings.
  • Reviews is now its own clean section; the AI Assistant tab was removed.
New1
  • Sign in with Google on the login and sign-up screens.
Improved2
  • The plan prompt is no longer a wall — it waits until a later visit and is easy to dismiss.
  • Signing up is quicker: fewer steps and no “work email only” restriction.
Fixed1
  • A couple of behind-the-scenes reliability fixes to keep your data and analytics accurate.
